Turning
Trying to find sparks
Deep within
Searching beyond the surface
To the very core of now
The essence of being
Fondling synapses
Caressing the mind
Providing warmth
Soothing touches
Flow from deep within
And turning
I see the mirror I have held
Up against the world
In clenched hands
Would have thrown it
At the approaching hoards
But would have then been
Defenseless
Open
Shards falling
Splintering
Turning
And I lean in
Deeper
To whisper into the soul
A secret wish
To share
Communal flow
One cup to another
Both full, never empty
Pouring a reflection
Of broken glass
As I fall upon
The many scenes of I
Staring up into the sky
That goes on without me
Wind flickering the flame
That burns
Deep within
And I hold up my hands
Sheltering
For I know that
The world turns
Regardless
